About TeacherWriter - Inspiring Writing Teachers

Hi! I'm Suzanne.

I’m so glad you’re here!

Are you looking for ways to simplify your teaching so you can have more time with the important things in your life…like family and friends?

I spent years perfecting systems, routines, and my own teaching resources so I could become the best teacher I could be and still have my weekends free. If that sounds like something you’d like too, then you’ve come to the right place. Let’s be friends!

My Story and My Why

I took a detour right after high school. After I married my husband Bryant, I started making up for time I lost on that detour. I worked full time, I went to school to earn an accounting degree, then a teaching credential, then a Master’s Degree. I also became a published writer of EL books and educational materials. All this while I was raising a family, too!

I had boundless energy…at first.

After a few years of teaching, I started to realize that my energy wouldn’t last forever. Have you ever felt that way? Yet the work that goes along with teaching kept piling up.

  • I worked in the evenings. How about you?
  • I worked on the weekends. How about you?

If you’re reading this, I’m 99.9% positive that’s what you’re doing too.

I ran myself into the ground. So much so, that on a romantic anniversary trip to the coast, I fell asleep at the table!

I. Literally. Fell. Asleep.

My adoring husband let me sleep and took a long walk on the beach by himself.

What a guy! I’m lucky to be with him.

Turning Point

I knew I couldn’t keep sacrificing my personal life for my students.

That’s when I knew I had to come up with a plan. If I didn’t I might end up leaving my teaching career. I didn’t want that to happen.

You probably went into teaching because you love it. You care about the students. You want the best for each and every one of them.

Yet to give your students your best, you have to be rested and fulfilled.

Otherwise, you won’t be able to be the top notch teacher you truly can be.

I’m here to share with you the solutions I found.

  • The systems I created.
  • The strategies and hacks I adopted.
  • The mindset shift I adopted to succeed in this.

The last four years of teaching were literally the best I ever enjoyed.

Finally I was able to relax and enjoy teaching the way it should be done; creatively, with innovation and spontaneity. Even when I was teaching remotely for four months I loved it. I was only able to do this because of the systems and strategies I employed. I fell in love with teaching all over again.

I want you to fall in love with teaching, too!

I want you to have the time you deserve to relax, refresh, and renew!

I can help you get there. I specialize in teaching writing with simple systems, and also in planning and organization with simple systems. Life can be simple, my friend!

You’ve got this, my friend.

And I’ve got your back.
