Hello, and welcome to the TeacherWriter website! This is your go-to site for research based strategies to teach writing in the elementary grades. I share strategies that will save you time and make your teaching day easier.
Whether you’re a teacher in a public school, private school, home school, or you just want to know more about writing, this resource blog is for you.
I want to share with you:
I’ve taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade writing, so my focus is on teaching writing in the elementary grades. Writing is what I love to do, and helping students learn to write is my special passion. But enough about me. You can read all about me on my About page, if you’re interested.
This blog will be all about research based strategies you can use to increase student engagement, make writing fun, and best of all, save you time and stress. Many of them you’ll be able to use right away. None of them will require more than a few minutes of planning time.
Every two weeks, I’ll have something new for you here. If you don’t want to miss anything, or if you’re in a hurry to start, you can download my guide, 5 Best Strategies to Teach Writing.
You can grab this from the Member’s Vault. The link to sign up and get the password is at the bottom of this post. ?
Strategies to teach writing that will save you time.
Over the weeks, I’ll be bringing you free resources to use to teach writing in your classroom or at home. I’ll be sharing ideas with you that teachers are using that are supported by current pedagogy. Sometimes I might offer you a resource to try in your class and share feedback with me.
You can also browse some of my current resources for teachers in my TeacherWriter Store. You’ll find resources in many categories of learning and classroom management.
Most importantly, I want to inspire you and support you on your journey as an educator. I think we can all agree that teaching is one of the most rewarding careers, but it can also be one of the most stressful. With that in mind, I want to be here to lessen your stress by giving you information that’s helpful to you and all the students you guide each day.
I’m so happy you found this page! I’m here for you!
